Quick Add — capture challenges and action items from anywhere

Capture a challenge or an action item from anywhere in the app — in seconds, without losing your place.

The best time to write something down is the moment you think of it. The worst is “later”, after you’ve navigated to the right page, found the right list and forgotten half of what you meant. Quick Add is a small feature built around that gap: one click from anywhere in Clarion opens a dialog to capture a challenge or an action item, and closing it puts you back exactly where you were.

One button, on every page

The Quick Add button sits at the top of the sidebar on every page — the dashboard, a milestone, the knowledgebase. Choose Challenge or Action item in the dialog, and switch between them without closing it.

Just enough detail

Quick Add asks for what you need to make the item useful, and nothing more.

For a challenge:

  • A title — “Customer churn spike in enterprise”.
  • An optional description of what’s going on.
  • A priority.
  • An owner, if you know who should take it.

For an action item:

  • A title — “Follow up with finance on the Q2 budget”.
  • An optional due date.
  • An owner.

Press Cmd/Ctrl + Enter in the title field to save without reaching for the mouse. Anything you want to add later — notes, votes, links — can go on the item itself.

Filed where it belongs

Items land in the team you’re currently working in, and the dialog tells you which one before you save, so nothing ends up on the wrong list. From there it behaves like any other challenge or action item: it shows up on the team’s lists, on the owner’s plate, and in the next sync.

Made for meetings

Quick Add is also in the header of a live sync, as the Add button. When the team is on the scorecard step and someone says “we should look into that”, anyone in the meeting can capture it as a challenge without leaving the step — and it’s waiting on the challenge list when the meeting gets there. When someone volunteers for a follow-up mid-discussion, it’s an action item with their name on it before the conversation moves on.

Why it matters

Small capture costs add up. If writing down a problem takes six clicks, people stop doing it and problems surface late. If it takes one click, the challenge list reflects what the team is actually worried about, and the action item list reflects what people actually promised.
