People join your company in Clarion by invitation. You choose their role and which teams they belong to before they ever log in, so they land in the right place on day one. Only Owners and Admins can invite people.
Send an invitation
- Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Company Settings.
- Open Team & Permissions.
- Click Invite Member.
- Enter their Email address.
- Pick a role from the dropdown. It defaults to Full Access. The other options are Owner, Admin, Advisor and Contractor — see Roles and permissions for what each one can do.
- Under Pre-assign to teams, click each team they should join. Selected teams are highlighted.
- Click Send Invite.
They get an email invitation. When they accept, they create an account or sign in at app.onclarion.com and are added to your company with the role and teams you chose.
If you don’t pre-assign any teams, they’re added to Leadership, your default team. That’s rarely what you want for anyone outside the leadership group, so pick their teams before you send. Teams have to exist first — see Create teams.
Manage pending invites
Invitations that haven’t been accepted yet appear under Pending Invites, marked Pending. For each one you can:
- Click Resend to send a fresh invitation email.
- Click Cancel to withdraw it.
- Click team names under the invite to change which teams they’ll join when they accept.
Change someone’s role or teams
Everyone who has joined is listed under Team Members, with an Internal or External tag. Advisors and Contractors are tagged External.
- To change a role, pick a new one from the dropdown on their row. It saves immediately.
- To change teams, click their row to expand it. Under Team Membership, switch each team on or off.
- If you run client companies, the same panel shows Client Company Access. See Advisor access.
You can’t change your own role or remove yourself from this screen.
Remove someone
Click the trash icon on their row. There’s no confirmation step. They lose access to the company straight away, and any milestones, metrics and challenges they owned become unassigned — reassign them afterwards.
Inactive members from imports
When you import milestones with an owner name Clarion doesn’t recognise, it creates a placeholder person so the milestone keeps its owner. These appear under Inactive Members, marked Imported · Inactive.
To turn a placeholder into a real member, click Activate, enter their email, and click Activate again. If that email belongs to someone already in the company, the placeholder is merged into their account and everything it owned moves to them. Otherwise Clarion sends an invitation to that address. To discard a placeholder, click the trash icon; anything it owned becomes unassigned.
Next steps
Once people are in, put them on teams and give each team its own milestones and scorecard. The people guide on onboarding a new team member covers the first week.
