A live sync is the meeting itself: a full-screen view that walks the team through the agenda, with the real scorecard, milestones, action items and challenges on each step. Changes made during the meeting are saved as you go.
Start the sync
- Click Syncs in the sidebar.
- On the sync’s card, click Start Sync.
Clarion opens the live view with a LIVE marker, the sync’s name and an elapsed-time clock. The person who starts the sync is the facilitator. They control which step everyone is on.
Every panel in the meeting shows the sync’s own team, whichever team each person had selected in the sidebar, so everyone sees the same numbers and lists.
Join a sync already in progress
While a sync is running, its card shows an In progress badge and a Join Sync button.
- Open Syncs and click Join Sync on the card.
- You land on the step the facilitator is on, not on step one.
Participants who join are followers. The header shows Following, and the footer reads Following the facilitator. When the facilitator moves to another step, followers’ screens follow within a few seconds. Followers can still work on each step: enter metric values, vote on challenges, add action items.
If you refresh the page mid-meeting, you return to the same session with the clock still running from the real start time.
Move through the agenda
As facilitator:
- Click Next Step and Previous at the bottom of the screen, or click any step in the progress bar to jump to it.
- The footer shows Step 2 of 6 and the step’s planned minutes.
- Click Add in the header to open Quick Add and capture a challenge or action item without leaving the meeting.
What each built-in step does:
- Scorecard: owners type this period’s values and press Tab or click away to save. A counter shows how many have been reported. See Record metric values.
- Wins & Notables: type a win and click Add. For a team sync, these are posted to the team’s Hub with the summary.
- Milestone Updates: the team’s milestones, editable in place.
- Action Items: the action item list, plus a shortcut to create a milestone if something is bigger than a to-do.
- Challenge Discussion: the team’s challenges, sorted pinned first, then escalated, then by votes. See Vote and escalate challenges.
Challenge and action item lists refresh every few seconds during a sync, so votes and additions from other people show up without reloading.
Custom steps show a Notes box. Anything typed there goes into the summary. To add steps, see Customize the sync agenda.
Wrap up and save
The Summary step shows:
- How many metrics were reported, how many are On Target and Off Target, and Action Items Created.
- This Session: what happened during the meeting, such as milestones completed, action items closed and challenges raised or resolved.
- A rating row for each participant, from 1 (not useful) to 10 (great).
- The Wins & Notables you captured.
To finish, the facilitator clicks Complete (or End Sync & Save in the header). Clarion saves the summary and ratings. For a sync that belongs to a team, it also posts the summary to that team’s Hub, marked with a Sync badge. The session then appears under Past Sessions in the sync’s settings, with its average rating.
Followers click Leave to exit. If they’ve rated the meeting, their rating is saved first.
Ending early
Before the last step, the header button reads End Sync. This cancels the session: no summary, ratings or Hub post are saved. Values, votes and items created during the meeting stay, because they were saved as you went. To keep the summary, go to the Summary step and click Complete.
A session left open for more than 12 hours is treated as abandoned, and the next Start Sync begins a fresh one.
